“A 2005 fall triggered a chronic pain that was diagnosed as carpal tunnel resulting in surgery on both wrists. There was never any relief and after a series of extensive examinations by a several orthopedic specialists I ended up at a pain management specialist. He thought my symptoms were being misdiagnosed and suggested a rheumatologist. Though all tests were negative the rheumatologist was convinced I had a non-test conclusive case of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). He started me on a cancer chemotherapy drug, which has several serious side effects, and ultimately can cause more damage than the drug itself.
Though I had some relief, I still could not raise my arms above my shoulders nor turn over in bed. Fortunately, I developed a cough about 8 months into treatment, a symptom of a more serious side-effect, lung damage, so I was taken off the cancer drug. I’d met Dr. Elina a few months earlier while she was a student at DMU. She suggested that RA, an autoimmune disease, was being triggered by a gastrointestinal issue. She had a mentoring doctor order a test for this issue, and when the results were read by a functional MD, her suspicions were confirmed.
In late 2006, she prescribed a series of nutrients, dietary changes, and an infrared sauna regiment. I never returned to see the rheumatologist, soon regained all the movement I’d lost, and today I am pain and symptom free. I continue to follow the nutrient, diet and heat therapies that Elina prescribes and enjoy a normal, active life.”

"I have worked with many talented D.O.'s for the treatment of life's activities i.e. sore back, touchy knee, or a tight neck. No one is as thorough as Elina! Her ability to find the underlying issue and tune into it is exceptional. She applies her training with a variety of methods and I highly recommend her as an advanced osteopathic manipulator."
